We ask that our members Play it FWD at least once a year. It might mean they participate in some sort of act of community service say for organized EMA Massive Action weekends thrown by EMA local organizers. It could also mean they choose to do something indivdually, like lending their time or talent to a fundraising or awareness campaign or event.
As EMA is part of Green Wave, an environmental and outdoor preparedness education non-profit, we tend to get pretty excited for Earth Day and think it is an amazing time of year to get involved as there are so many activities going on.
This year, we have one of our EMA founders, Ken Jordan from The Crystal Method, who will be climbing a tree to raise money for both Green Wave and the environmental school that is hosting the fundraiser, Escuela Futuro Verde (an environmental school in Ken's new town of Costa Rica). More details on this challenge coming soon (as Ken has only joined the challenge a day ago) but if you want a sneak peak... click here.
We encourage everyone in our community to start looking into how you might want to Play it FWD this year. Earth Day is on April 22nd but there are often activities leading up to the day and sometimes even following. It's pretty easy to find activities that will be happening around you. We suggest you do a simple search engine search for your city (or a city you will be in) + "Earth Day 2017".
Email us if you need help figuring out an individual campaign or would like help organizing a Massive Action. If you are an artist we can also help you "Green Your Rider". Contact us by email for more details.
